The lady with the dark voice first studied the piano before taking up singing. Specializing in the Baroque repertoire, Mijanović has made a fascinating contribution to the works of Handel and Vivaldi, in both trouser roles such as Cesare, and female roles such as Mitrena. She has also performed roles from Wagner and Mozart. Mijanović has appeared with many leading Baroque conductors.
